How is this different than other fitness programs?

Pregnancy is a unique season- a fitness regimen should reflect that. Other fitness programs might not take into account the stretching core muscles, the increased load on the pelvic floor, or the aches and pains common in pregnancy. Built To Birth takes all this into account and more to create a pregnancy safe workout program that also primes the body for birth.

Will this help strengthen my pelvic floor?

Yes! Most women are told to “Do your kegels!” But this only addresses the strength aspect of the pelvic floor. For a healthier, happier, easier birth, you need balance throughout the body. The Built To Birth course targets the core, pelvic floor, upper body, and lower body to create alignment and balance in the body that will keep you strong and supple during pregnancy and beyond.

What is the skill level of this program?

The Built To Birth fitness program is moderately challenging. With that being said, all the movements are modifiable to increase the challenge (add weights!) or lower the intensity (body weight only!). The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that women with uncomplicated pregnancies should be encouraged to engage in aerobic and strength-conditioning exercises before, during, and after pregnancy.
